My first project in Hawaii 2 years ago. I was commissioned to build this cover over the entry gates to this beautiful multimillion dollar home on Big Island. Because of my portfolio of timber work I was hired by the contractor to do this added after thought to cover the entry gates. What you don’t see is the 40’ x 12’ koi pond that the gates open up to with a bridge connecting the entrance to the house. Being the first thing you see as you approach this gem of a home the craftsmanship had to be perfect. I spent a week fabricating this in the driveway by myself and completed it adding all the electrical elements inset into the frame for lighting.  Once completed a few carpenters that were finishing the interior helped me fly the completed structure in with a forklift. This job was an expression of my love for the work I do.
